New advocacy committee positions available at the CCR2P
The Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect is delighted to announce the following new openings for our advocacy campaign which will take place in the spring of 2015 at the University of Toronto. Entitled “Ten Years since the 2005 World Summit Outcome: Mainstreaming R2P into Domestic Agenda,” this campaign seeks to critically examine the normative journey of R2P in the last decade, with an eye towards future political implementation. From January to April 2015, the CCR2P will be engaging in an extensive campaign across Canada to foster dialogue and debate on the relevance and applicability of the R2P principle in our troubled world today.
We are looking for students and alumni of the University of Toronto with a strong passion for human rights advocacy in general and R2P in particular, with excellent organizational and teamwork skills and availability of about 5 hours/week from November 2014 to April 2015. Previous experience in event coordination or involvement with CCR2P is an asset and we welcome candidates with language skills in official UN languages. Physical presence in Toronto will be required for advocacy positions as we will meet in person quite regularly.
