CCR2P is currently recruiting analysts for both the Undergraduate Research Division & R2PLive Division. We welcome applications from all interested and qualified candidates!

 AVAILABLE POSITIONS:  

1. Undergraduate Division Analysts

Interested in becoming involved with CCR2P’s undergraduate research projects?

We are currently seeking applications for three levels of analyst positions: Divisional Managing Director, Sectional Lead Analyst, and Analyst. Successful applicants will join the CCR2P research family and contribute to team-published reports that will be released in the spring term.

 1. Divisional Managing Directors (2)

Previous leadership and management experience is a must, as is previous research experience. The managing director should possess an excellent academic record. Finally, the managing director must have significant academic or research experience that is relevant to the work of CCR2P.

 2. Sectional Lead Analysts (4)

Sectional Lead Analysts should be capable managers and skilled researchers. Previous leadership and management experience are major assets. A strong academic record is also valued. Tasks will vary depending on the Division and section, but in general will involve supervision, coordination, and quality control of analyst work.

3. Research Analysts (10)

Analysts must possess strong research skills and be able to write objectively and factually, with a clear passion for the study of R2P. Tasks will vary depending on the Division and section.

This year, the Director of Research (Undergraduate) is running two major divisions, one focused on R2P in Africa and another on R2P in Canadian foreign policy.  In addition to the qualifications listed under each position class, applicants should consider highlighting any skillsets they possess that are specific to a given research division. Applicants should also mention in their Statement of Interest the Division they are most interested in (Africa or Canada).

Africa Division Skill-sets

-        French language abilities.

-        Experience studying Africa and African conflicts.

-        Historical research experience.

-        Familiarity with media and academic search engines.

-        Understanding of new forms of telecommunications technology and their uses in the developing world.

 

Canada Division Skill-sets

-        Experience with graphic design, Excel, and statistical analysis.

-        Demonstrated qualitative analysis ability.

-        French language ability.

-        Experience studying Canadian foreign policy.

 

4. R2PLive Analysts

Interested in becoming involved with R2PLive?

We are a division focused on tracking & analyzing the global dialogue around R2P for the benefit of scholars, policymakers, and students. Familiarity or fluency in any foreign language, especially UN official languages, will be an asset.

No extensive previous training on R2P/WordPress is necessary and anyone interested is welcome to apply. Strong analysts will be promoted to serve as Senior Analysts following a performance evaluation after the first report is published in November.

Duties include:

- Reviewing the most current news related to R2P using web tools

- Keeping track of R2P-related news around the world

- Contributing to a team published report in semesters 1 & 2
