Co-Chairperson: Patrick Quinton-Brown, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

Patrick is a third-year undergraduate student in the International Relations program at the University of Toronto. Prior to joining the CCR2P, Patrick worked as a lead analyst for the G8 Research Group. He has been awarded the Klaus Goldschlag Prize in International Relations and is a graduate of the Margaret MacMillan Trinity One Program. Patrick is a recipient of both the University of Toronto National Scholarship and the TD National Scholarship.

o-Chairperson: David Byun, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

David is currently a fourth-year undergrad student majoring in political science at the University of Toronto.  As an aspiring political scientist deeply interested in the developing field of global governance, he is excited and honoured to join the CCR2P as a senior research analyst this year.  As part of CCR2P, he seeks to not only gain extensive research experience and training, but also explore in depth his own questions regarding the prospects of the R2P principle to become the dominant discourse in the international policy arena over the next decade, and the potential for its gradual universal implementation.  Prior to his involvement with the CCR2P, David has served as a research analyst at the G8/G20 Research Group, and as a committee director at the North American Model United Nations—both of which deepened his interest in the R2P norm and led him to apply to be a research analyst for the CCR2P.

Director of Research: Brandon W. Bailey, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

Brandon is a University of Toronto student majoring in International Relations and Canadian Studies with a focus on Canadian foreign policy. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Toronto Canadian Studies Student Journal “Imagi-Nations” and as a research and communications analyst in the G8 and G20 Research Groups.

 

Director of Communications: Taylor Lew, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

Taylor is a fourth year International Relations Specialist student at Trinity College in the University of Toronto.  He is a graduate of U of T’s Vic One Program’s Lester B. Pearson Stream for Public Service and has frequently been invited as a guest speaker for the Introduction to Historiography seminar class.  Taylor is fluent in French and has worked abroad at the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France.  Currently, he has returned to his position as a Bilingual Information Officer at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Taylor enjoys being the liaison between organizations and end users.  Prior to joining CCR2P, Taylor represented Plan Canada as a youth journalist at the 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Geneva, Switzerland, and contributed to the CBC’s G20 Toronto Summit “street view” blog.

Director of Finance and Logistics: Melanie H.S. Sin, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

Melanie will be graduating from Trinity College with an Honours B.A. in International Relations and psychology this June. Melanie studied Commerce at the University of Toronto before switching her major to International Relations in third year. In addition to her involvement with CCR2P, Melanie is a Student Life Staff (Don) at the University of St. Michael’s College and a research assistant in the Psychology Department at the University of Toronto. Her academic interests include international economics, international law, immigration and refugee law, as well as the psychology of intergroup relations.

Director of Corporate Sponsorship and Fundraising: Sowon Kim, Honours BA Candidate, University of Toronto

Sowon is a third-year student studying International Relations and History at the University of Toronto. On a professional capacity, prior to her involvement with the CCR2P, she worked as a research assistant at the Diplomatic Archives in Seoul, South Korea. She was also involved with the G8/G20 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs as a research analyst, assisting Professor John Kirton. She was accredited through the Globe and Mail to attend the Seoul G20 Summit 2010 and analyzed various media outlets in both English and Korean.
