The Civil Society Team exists to analyze and report the way civil society actors, including non-governmental organizations, have interpreted, interacted, or responded to the development of R2P as an international norm.

Civil Society Studies Team

Kate Bruce-Lockhart

Kate Bruce-Lockhart is a fourth year student in African Studies and History. She has extensive experience working with and research civil society, including involvement  with several non-governmental organization and a current position as the Director of Civil Society Studies at the G8 Research Group. Last summer,  Kate worked as a civil society analyst at the G8 Summit in Deauville, France. She will be pursuing a MSc. in African Studies at the University of Oxford.

Vivian Chung

Vivian is currently a third year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, completing a specialist in International Relations and a major in Environmental Studies.  From an early age, Vivian has been interested in world affairs and social justice, citing learning about the Rwandan genocide as the catalyst for the academic choices she has made thus far.  Fueling her interest in world affairs is her passion for traveling and experiencing different cultures and societies.

Karolina Dejnicka

Karolina graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in History and Political Science with a particular interest in the Cold War and post-Soviet Russia. This is her second year as an analyst for CCR2P.

Tshweu Moleme

Tshweu is a University of Toronto student in Political Science, African Studies, and Diaspora and Transnational Studies, with focus on Canadian foreign policy, chiefly as relating to Southern African Development Community states and the BRICS. He is currently a member of the Youth and Young Professionals Committee with the Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs, and a Couchiching Coordinator for the Orillia-Lakehead University Roundtable Conversations. He is also a compliance studies analyst for the G8 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs, and a board member at Pal Reading Services Inc.
