Yazmeen Kanji is a second year student at the University of Toronto pursuing a double major in Equity Studies and Cinema Studies as well as a minor in African Studies. Yazmeen is currently the Vice President of the WE: Free The Children Chapter at the St George campus. She is a former Munk One student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and a previous Social Media intern for the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect. Yazmeen was a part of the winning team for the 2016 Munk One Case Competition by the Munk School of Global Affairs. Her team proposed a solution to prevent sex trafficking in Toronto and Yazmeen actively continues to conduct research on the matter. Yazmeen is also a professional videographer and an award winning youth filmmaker. She is currently creating socially conscious films in an effort to create awareness and to instigate foreseeable change.
