Shahd is a first-year student at the University of Toronto. She is currently enrolled in the Munk One program at the Munk School of Global Affairs. Having grown up in the Arab world, Shahd was drawn to the recent social movements and innovations that have risen in the Arab region. Shahd is particularly interested in studying how local innovation can bring about economic, political, and social change. Currently, Shahd serves as a mentor in the Global Ideas Institute where she assists youth in developing solutions for food insecurity. From her travelling experiences, Shahd has learned to value the importance of providing platforms for conversations between the community, the government, and the private sector. Throughout her university career, Shahd hopes to pursue studies in Peace, Conflict and Justice, Psychology, and Human Biology. Shahd is eager to serve at CCR2P as an R2P Live Analyst.
