R2P SCHOLARS NETWORK
The Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (CCR2P) is pleased to announce the launch of “R2P Scholars Network” this spring 2013.
The R2P Scholars Network is an international network of scholars and policy-makers working to advance the R2P principle nationally, regionally and globally. In doing so, we hope to foster information sharing amongst researchers of R2P, solidify networking with other scholars and help strengthen the knowledge base for the political implementation of R2P.
Our R2P Scholars Network will be administered through the office of the CCR2P based at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto. There will be an official launch of the R2P Scholars Network in October 2013 where all fellows will be invited to meet and mingle at our welcoming reception. Upon acceptance, all fellows will be given access to CCR2P’s research findings and various workshops and receptions for networking purposes throughout the year. A selected number of fellows will be featured at the CCR2P’s annual symposium in April 2014.
Applications are now open for the following fellowship positions. Any interested scholar, researcher or a policy-maker in government, civil society or journalism fields anywhere in the world working on any aspect of R2P is welcome to apply by submitting a full CV, an application form (attached), a statement of interest (1 page max), and a writing sample on R2P to recruiting@ccr2p.org by September 30, 2013.
1) JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP: Open to any undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a recognized university anywhere in the world who has conducted substantial research on R2P. Your writing sample will be instrumental in adjudicating your application. Optional- You are welcome to submit a letter of support from your colleague or professor familiar with your work.
2) SENIOR FELLOWSHIP: Open to any scholar, researcher or policy maker working to advance the R2P principle. In your statement of interest, please outline in detail the type of R2P-related research you are engaged with and your past contributions.
